The Home Reset Checklist

15 minutes every few months can help you stay on top of the little things around the home.

Homes do not usually need constant attention. Often, a few simple checks every season can help spot small issues before they become bigger jobs.

Use this checklist as a gentle reminder rather than another task on your to-do list.

Every Few Months

  • Test smoke alarms
  • Check bathroom sealant for cracks, gaps or mould that does not wipe away
  • Look for any dripping taps
  • Walk around the garden and check fences and gates
  • Make a note of any scuffs, chips or little jobs that have caught your eye

Once a Year

  • Deep clean your patio or decking
  • Check fences, gates and exterior paintwork
  • Check loft insulation if accessible
  • Make a note of any jobs you would like to tackle this year

Tip

Add a reminder to your calendar at the start of each season (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter) and spend 15 minutes walking around your home with this checklist.
